Get Involved

To keep serving our city Genspace needs your support.

Join the Lab by Becoming a Member
Genspace members pay monthly dues to be part of our community lab. By joining you get access to our professional equipment and biosafety level 1 facilities. Learn hands-on lab skills and interact with our diverse and dynamic group of enthusiasts. We are open to all types of members: entrepreneurs with great science ideas, novices who want to engineer new life forms, artists, and anyone who wants to tinker and learn. Contact Daniel Grushkin for more details: dgrushkin at genspace.org.

Take Courses

We offer classes in variety of biotech and synthetic biology related topics for the public. We've had multiple runs of the synthetic biology and biotech crashcourses aimed at total beginners, where students were taught to extract and sequence their own mitochondial DNA and clone their own CCR5 co-receptor coding regions into bacteria. If you're interested in attending the classes please check the blog or inquire at info(at)genspace.org

Workshops
We offer single day workshops on variety of topics as well. Past topics included bioart experiment with slime molds, lecture on human microbiome and anthropological genetics! Inquire at info(at)genspace.org for future events, or check the blog for future events!
